Red Alert - Diwali ??? No More ...

29th Oct... 2 more days to go and there u r.. one of d biggest festivals in India. Much sought after affair, everything new... markets buzz... happy feelin in d air... Me n mah family makin our lil preparations for d day. And dis mornin i took all mah younger siblings to watch the latest animated flick - 'Hanuman'. Out of it and head to other places to get a feel of d festivities around. Lights everywhere ... And boom - i get an SMS from Dayal sayin ''Guys plz take care and if u out, head back home. there have been 3 blasts in delhi''. And followin d SMS was d news on Radio stations confirmin it. Had no clues abt how many died and guess wat.. d first thing i hear around is ''why do these muslims have to create chaos jst when our festival is around d corner''... and damnnn i wanna bang mah head and wat i do is ... tell them calmly dat it has nuffin to do wid religion but few bastards who know nuffin but hatred. And ever since i havent been able to find an answer as to HOW ??? How can sum1 kill innocent lives??? Imagine man .. hell! Where are we headin to??? Dis isnt d kinda world i wanna give to mah children. What do i tell mah kids when they question me of what rights did i have to do dis to them coz we didnt get a world dat was so shitty, why then are we passin it on as filthy? Dis isnt what we were taught in school. Mah books dat i worshipped said all religions are equal and how India is a land of all cultures. I still wonder if its religion alone?? To a large extent Politics plays a hand! Whateva and whoeva... why kill ??? Why bloodshed?? kyon ???

Eva since the news broke out i got calls from relatives and friends from all over the world anxious and worryin.. Lemme tell everyone here that we are all fine, everyone in and arnd the family is alright. Thanx everyone for the support.

Over and over again when i hear news like dis one, it brings to mah mind a song dats perhaps is mah fav Javed Akhtar's work, its from the movie called 'Refugee' and mah fav lines so very well get me thinkin everytime -
Panchhi, Nadiya, Pawan Ke Jhhonke, Koi Sarhad Na Inhe Rokey,

Sarhadien Insaano Ke Liye Hain,
Socho Tumne Aur Maine, Kya Paya Insaan Hokey ??

Yeah, what have we achieved being humans?? The most intelligent and special species of God... He must be hurt the most seein all dis happen. May God give strength to d families dat lost their loved ones and May their souls rest in peace!Whoever asked me - if Gandhi is still relevant ... LIKE NEVER BEFORE!
PEACE !!!!!

Gandhi .. on his 136th birthday !!!

I feel so humbled and proud to mention something about a man as great as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. I have a pretty detailed view on his relevance today and dat write-up will follow dis particular post coz ryt now m a lil stressed out and not d proper frame of mind to post it out here but very soon people !!!! The followin hymn is said to be Gandhiji's favourite hymn, i got a translation of it, now i know why he loved it.. We have all sometime or the other read this hymn or heard it but i'm sure most of us didnt really knw wat it means ... read on people ....

Vaishnov Jan to taynay kahyeeyeJay peerh paraaye janneyray
Par dukkhey upkar karey teeyey, man abhiman na anney ray
Sakal lokma Sahuney bandhey, Ninda Na karye kainee ray

Baach kaachh, Man nischal Raakhey,dhan-dhan jananee tainee ray
Samdrishi nay trishna tyagee, par-stree jaynay mat ray

Vivihva thaki asatya na bolay,par-dhan nav jhaley haath ray
Moh maaya vyaayey nahin Jeynay, dridth vairagya jana manma ray

Vanloohee nay kapat rahit chhay,Kaam, Krodh nivarya ray

Bhane Narsinhyo tainoo darshan kartakul ekotair taarya re.

and now d english translation ...::

A godlike man is one,Who feels another’s pain
Who shares another’s sorrow,And pride does disdain.
Who regards himself as the lowliest of the low,

Speaks not a word of evil against any one
One who keeps himself steadfast in words, body and mind,
Blessed is the mother who gives birth to such a son.
Who looks upon everyone as his equal and has renounced lust,

And who honours women like he honours his mother
Whose tongue knows not the taste of falsehood till his last breath,
Nor covets another’s worldly goods.
He does not desire worldly things,

For he treads the path of renunciation
Ever on his lips is Rama’s holy name,
All places of pilgrimage are within him.
One who is not greedy and deceitful,

And has conquered lust and anger
Through such a man Saint Narsaiyon has a godly vision,
Generations to come, of such a man, will attain salvation ......

Slow Dance ....

Have you ever watched kids on a merry- go- round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down. Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short. The song won’t last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask how are you? Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done Do you lie in your in your bed
With the next hundred chores Running through your head?
Ever told your child, we’ll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
You’d better slow down, don’t dance so fast.
Time is short, the music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift…thrown away.
Life is not a race do take it slower.
Hear the music before the song is over.

Beautiful isnt it people?... Thanx Dayal for forwardin it to me.. i luv it beyond words and so thr, it finds a place on mah blog.....

Teachers pet... is dat me???

Teachers day.........
...... the day dat was always special in school. College i dont really remember doin much on dis day but school, oh man, all dressed in sarees, being their fav teachers for d day. All dat was so much fun. I make it a point to call up mah fav teacher from school - Mrs. Bimla Singh who i say 'i am debted to mah parents for living but to u ma'am for living well'. Mrs. Singh was mah English teacher in 8th std. but its arnd 5th std. dat i first met her when she picked me to play dis role of a BlueLine bus driver for which me n mah team won an All India First prize! and i appeared in d newspapers and TV news. n dat gave me an all time confidence boost. Its thanx to Mrs. Singh dat i neva looked bak. One dramatics play to another.... brushin mah debating skills, helpin me write better... its all thanx to her. well actually i cant really thank her. She is one of the most creative people i'v eva met in life. Brilliantly intelligent. Smart.... a perfect teacher!!! The last few days in school i remember gettin her to sign mah diary and i wanted her to be d first to write and she being her true creative self wrote bak a poem for me. Heres wat d poem read -

If i were to write your certificate i'd say :
''She can dabble in art, act, write and debate,
is loyal, considerate and affectionate.''
How many roles have we played together?
To name a few: Blueline driver, Noah, Emperor Ceasar
Now this little girls grown taller than her teacher
As in the swirl of school life words grew few,
I think your Teachers Day cards spoke for you
While my support and guidance was always there you knew.
Let all the good in you grow,
Be someone whose marks on life will show,
Of my box of wishes if you open the bow,
Out will spill -- Success, health, happiness and love !
- Lots of luv, Mrs. Bimla Singh

Dats her magic. Dats mah fav teacher.
And i would also mention a few of those teachers who also have touched mah life in a special way - Mrs. Manju Madan (history)
- Mrs. Indira Tara (hindi)
- Mrs. Nalini James (psychology)
- Mrs. Rajni Manan ( comm arts)
- Sr. Therese (Principal)
- Rehman Sir (Maths tutor)

May all these people always have a healthy happy life ahead. Can never ever thank them enough. I say i'll turn out to be sum1 they'll always be proud of !!! Yeah, Mrs. Singh ???

Sometimes when we touch ....

d..Dis beautiful lil thing i read sumwhr... And yeah... it goes out to someone .. yeah u ... You...

You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I’d rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
In what you say or do
I’m only just beginning
To see the real you..........

And sometimes when we touch
The honesty’s too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I want to hold you till I die
Till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Romance and all it’s strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
But through all the insecurity
Some tenderness survives
I’m just another writer
Still trapped within my truth
A hesitant prize fighter
Still trapped within my youth

And sometimes when we touch
The honesty’s too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I want to hold you till I die
Till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

At times I’d like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I’d like to break through
And hold you endlessly
At times I understand you
And I know how hard you try
I watched while love commands you
And I’ve watched love pass you by
At times I think we’re drifters
Still searching for a friend
But then the passion flares again......

Sometimes when we touched.....
